Daily Routine of an IMSS Student
Our students’ routines begin from the first moment they walk through the front door.
During the morning class, boys and girls can choose what they want for breakfast from the options provided by the center. This involves preparing your table, your plate, your cutlery and subsequent collection and cleaning. They go to their corresponding classroom. They take off their shoes and put on their sneakers to be at school, leaving their street shoes organized at the entrance to the classroom.
Once the work day begins from 9:00 to 12:00 within the Montessori environment, our students will be able to choose which area and what material they prefer to work with, as long as they already know the material and the guide has presented it to them. They may choose from the sensory area, practical life, mathematics, zoology, biology, geography or language. At the same time, our Maker space will be open so that, in shifts and in small groups, our students can carry out project work.
Before going out to the outdoor patio for free play time, the students in charge of the day prepare a fruit snack for the entire group. This involves preparing the fruit, cutting, plating and serving, including its subsequent harvesting. During free play they have different materials at their disposal to practice motor skills or gross motor skills. After this recreation time, each day of the week they will have different activities such as French, environmental education, emotional education or chess.
Lunch time arrives and the space is prepared for it, tablecloths, cutlery, and the corresponding plates. Without forgetting that the space must be clean and collected before going home.
And on Fridays… our learning walks! Traveling by bus, direct contact with nature and psychomotor areas.
