Método Montessori
Is the Montessori method correct for my child?
It is difficult for a method of adaptive characteristics to the individual differences of each child to not be correct for a specific child. Below we will name the most relevant characteristics of this method in relation to its ability to adapt to each child:
- Active role of the child, while adults become counselors, with the mission of guaranteeing an adequate environment in which affection, understanding and trust prevail.
- It promotes the development of the child’s cognitive functions, especially their creativity, while enhancing social skills and promoting autonomy.
- Activities designed for each child to execute individually following their learning pace.
- Montessori stimulates the almost unlimited development of the child’s cognitive abilities. In practice, children can learn everything they are capable of assimilating since they are the ones who manage their learning from the educational means that adults offer them. By not having standards to follow, children can give free rein to their creativity, imagination, memory, attention and thinking.
In view of these characteristics, it means that this method is valid for any child, no matter how disparate their personalities, qualities, interests, etc. As long as we prioritize the child, the field of learning will be greater.
