Welcome to a New School Year at IMS in Sotogrande!

· By Tamara Muñoz

Montessori Education

As the long summer gently fades away and the excitement for the new school year is in the air, we are delighted to welcome our students, families and staff to The International Montessori School of Sotogrande (IMS). These first few weeks have been incredible, and we look forward to the many opportunities for exploration, growth, and learning that the year will bring.

Embracing the Montessori Spirit

At IMS Sotogrande, we remain deeply committed to the Montessori philosophy, which serves as the foundation of everything we do. Maria Montessori once said:“The greatest sign of success for a teacher… is being able to say: ‘The children are now working as if I did not exist.’”This quote beautifully captures the essence of our approach: fostering independence, self-confidence and a love of learning in every child. Our goal is to create an environment where students feel empowered to take charge of their own education, develop bilingualism, explore their interests, and grow as confident and capable individuals.

  • Children’s Community(18 months to 3 years): We encourage independence through practical living activities and the development of early social skills.
  • Children’s House(3-6 years): A vibrant environment where fundamental concepts are introduced and children are encouraged to explore.
  • Workshop 1(6 to 9 years): Focused on deepening knowledge, creativity and collaboration, with individual and group projects.
